Taize Worship

To experience simple and peaceful worship in a busy world, Taizé Worship is held on the third Thursday of the month at 10am.

What is Taizé Worship?

The Taizé Worship includes music, readings from the bible and other sources. The music (often known as Taizé chants) repeats, often following key biblical texts, allowing those present to immerse themselves in the simple but profound harmonies which is a form of sung prayer.

Silence is perhaps the second most important aspect of Taizé. Often in the middle of Taizé Worship a period of silence (rather than a sermon or meditation) is held. Maintaining silence is not a technique or method enabling some special communication with God. It is simply holding oneself in a presence and letting Christ, through the Holy Spirit, pray in us.
